What We Do
Our guiding principle is that “With God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26. Anyone can be lost or become lost. The Cross Roads Logo speaks to the intersection of people at the crossroads of life. Many have been thrown off course by homelessness, addiction, incarceration, or events which have led to a loss of direction and trust in God, themselves and others. A first step in the healing process is to offer relationship with the individual in crisis. We seek to identify physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual needs. What we learn and discern through relationship allows Cross Roads to assist a person who desires a different path to find services and connections that will benefit their well-being.

Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would come home rejoicing and would call friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over the one who was lost and is rescued than over the ninety-nine in no need of rescue.” Luke 15:4-7

Below is a short video about who Cross Roads is and why this mission is so important to us.
More Than A Statistic.
Ministry
Cross Roads is dedicated to helping our friends and neighbors succeed on the road to recovery. We know this is possible for with God all things are possible, and we continue to see it worked out daily. We support each person in their journey to develop the skills and relationships with self, God and loved ones that are necessary to maintain lasting health. Feelings of emptiness, longing, and lack of fulfillment can create a deep need to use drugs or alcohol. Living a life of meaning by forming or building a personal relationship with Jesus and other Christians gives the user new hope and focus that is necessary for mental, spiritual, and emotional healing.
Training
Cross Roads works towards connecting individuals in need with a Christ-centered “Friend” who will enable them to experience a “PLACE” of safety and acceptance: Playful, Loving, Accepting, Curious and Empathetic relationships. This in turn will help them connect with community, find direction and experience hope. Read more below...
Community
Our community is filled with businesses, churches, non-profits, and individuals who have offered a hand, a job, an opportunity, a service, a ride, food, shelter and more. Knowing this, Cross Roads would like to provide an opportunity to demonstrate the development of trust and hope through healthy relationships that provide an anchor in an ever-changing sea of challenges.
People of the Outer Banks have always been more than responsive to the needs of others. Cross Roads desires to offer growing relationships that will help to fill the void for those who do not know where to turn. It is a grass roots effort in that it will be essentially, volunteer based and community funded.
How Does It Work?
Hearts have come together to offer a service that will support individuals seeking new direction to wholeness and hope. Cross Roads is a Christ-centered outreach offering discernment, guidance, and objective planning for those who desire to change the course of their lives. As "Good Samaritans", our objective is steadfast- to give our friends tools needed to build a better life. Such tools are broad and may include getting access to mental and physical healthcare, detox, rehab, group housing, job opportunities, church fellowship and healthy relationships.
